Motorcycle Gear Indicator For Kawasaki ER-6F ER-6N Z1000SX Ninja 300

▲Please note that this gear indicator is plug-and-play and does not require configuration after successful installation. The gear position can be displayed after installation. Please confirm that your motorcycle model and year are within the usage range on the details page, and then connect the cables to the hole of the gear indicator plug in the correct order according to the instructions, and find the correct off-white four-hole plug on the motorcycle. Match the gear indicator plug and insert it. Be sure to insert the connecting cable and plug tightly. If the model and year of your motorcycle are within the range, the plug will generally be off-white, unless there are special circumstances. If there are multiple plugs please try them all.

Congratulations on your purchase of a gear position indicator,This product will fit all For Kawasaki fuel injected(EFI)motorcycles which have on board Diagnostic System connector. This connector is referred as For KDS(For Kawasaki Diagnostic System) in the For Kawasaki manuals.Unlike other gear indicators available for your bike,this product connects to the diagnostic connector.It make the installation very sample. The unit reads data directly from the ECU, offering faster and more reliable readings than competing products.The display is auto learning,there are no button and no ''programming wire'' Know limitations;Your bike is not equipped with Gear Position Sensor. therefore determining the gear in use is only possible when the engine is running and the clutch is released.

 

 

 

▲Installation:

 

 

1. Find the 4-pole diagnostic connector (also called as For KDS) under the seat, near the ECU module (Black, Grey, or semi-transparent plug).

 

 

2. Normally it has a removable semi-transparent cap or ?dummy? plug (without wires) attached to it. The connector may be partially covered by black tape.

 

 

Note: You may find TWO of this connector on your bike. In this case, try both connectors, but only one of them will supply data to this gear indicator. It will not harm your bike if you connect the gear indicator to the wrong plug first.

 

 

 

3. Detach the cover (cap) from the plug and connect the gear indicator plug.

 

 

4. Route the cable to the mounting location along the frame. Peel the green plastic off from the back of the unit, and mount the display.

 

 

5. Secure the cable with the cable ties supplied, ensuring that the steering movement is not impaired by the cable.

 

 

 

▲Troubleshooting:

 

 

You may find TWO semi-transparent connectors on the bike with a removable cap or dummy plug.Try the second one if the unit does not work from the first one.Disconnect the Gear Indicator connector and check whether the pins are broken,bent or pushed out of position.Reconnect the plug,and make sure that all connections are good and the connector is fully seated.If you can not execute the setup procedure,your battery might be old or weak.Charge the battery or connect another battery using a jumper cable.If some gears are not indicated properly when the engine is running and clutch is released,rest the unit and setup again.If the problem
